Vintage Herb Cabinet

My Vision

Not every piece tells you what it wants to become, but this one did and it's a keeper.

The moment I saw its worn paint, beadboard interior, and old glass doors, I knew it wasn't meant to be another vintage painted cabinet.

It was waiting to become our Apothecary.

A place where my families herbs, roots, teas, and healing traditions could live together.

Gratitude as me and my wife, Kathleen, have talked about a vintage Apothecary cabinet and this cabinet found it's way into our loving home.

I didn't see a broken mirror.

I saw an invitation.

That opening will become one of my stained glass portals, bringing light, color, and Love energy into the heart of the cabinet.

When complete, amber apothecary jars will line the additional reclaimed wood shelves, added Mid Century Modern design elements, and an illuminated stained glass portal.

Not simply storage.

A place of healing.

A place of intention.

A place where nature and craftsmanship meet.

In-Progress Update: 8/2026

Progress is flowing nicely… and this is just a glimpse of what’s to come.

The vintage herb cabinet is continuing its transformation into our Apothecary Portal.

A space where old-world function, creativity, nature, and intention come together.

We’ve added new brass hardware, removed the old paint from the doors to reveal the natural wood, built new wood shelving, and brought in that rich golden yellow energy throughout the interior.

Up top, the shelves are painted cobalt blue, creating that deep contrast and carrying our color story forward.

And now comes the soul of it…

We have amber glass jars on the way, along with some vintage jars that will eventually hold our collection of 30+ herbs, roots, seeds, flowers, and botanicals.

Kathleen is designing the proper labels so everything has its place, its name, and its purpose.

I’m currently designing the stained-glass doors along with a glass mosaic insert for the back, bringing another layer of color, light, texture, and handmade energy into the piece.

This isn’t about making something look new.

It’s about taking something that already has a story…
honoring what was there…
and giving it new purpose and new energy.

Still creating. Still evolving. More to come.
